Retirement, Faith, Purpose and a New Chapter
Retirement is one of life's biggest changes.
After years shaped by work, responsibilities and routines, suddenly there's space for something different. It can be exciting, a little daunting and an opportunity to ask’ what might God have planned for me next’?
Take time to reflect and give thanks
Retirement offers a rare opportunity to pause and look back. Not just at what you've achieved, but at where God has been present throughout the journey.
Take time to give thanks for the people, opportunities, challenges and unexpected turns that have shaped your life and faith.
You might begin a journal, spend more time reading the Bible or choose a Christian book that encourages you to reflect on God's purpose for the years ahead.
Sometimes looking back with gratitude can help us see more clearly where God might be leading us next.

Discover a new rhythm
One of the gifts of retirement can be time.
Time to linger over your morning coffee. Time to read, pray, travel, learn something new or simply enjoy a slower pace.
It can also be an opportunity to create a new rhythm for your faith, perhaps spending more time with the Bible, joining a group or finally reading some of those books you've always meant to.
Purpose doesn't retire
Leaving work doesn't mean leaving behind the things God has given you.
A lifetime of experience, skills, wisdom and faith still has enormous value. Perhaps this chapter of your life brings opportunities to volunteer, mentor someone younger, serve at church, support a cause you care about or simply have more time for the people around you.
Your working life may have finished, but God's purpose for your life hasn't.
Trust God with what comes next
Retirement can bring more freedom to get outside, explore and enjoy God's creation.
Whether it's a gentle walk, a day in the countryside or time by the coast, being outdoors can give us space to think, pray and appreciate the beauty of the world around us.
Pack a flask or water bottle, choose somewhere you've been meaning to visit and enjoy having the time to wander a little further.
As you step into this new chapter, trust that God still has paths for you to walk, people for you to encourage and new things for you to discover.

A new chapter
Retirement doesn't have to be about stepping away from life. It can be about having more freedom to step towards the things that matter.
Rest. Explore. Serve. Learn. Pray. Spend time with the people you love.
And wherever this next chapter leads, take your faith with you.
