Small Ways to Share Faith & Encouragement

Small Ways to Share Faith & Encouragement

Sharing our faith doesn't always require a big conversation.

Sometimes it can be found in the smallest gestures. A few words of encouragement, a thoughtful card, a promise to pray or simply letting someone know they're not facing something alone.

Here are a few simple ways to bring faith and encouragement into someone else's day.

Give someone a verse to keep

Sometimes it's difficult to know exactly what to say.

A carefully chosen Bible verse can offer hope, reassurance or encouragement when our own words don't quite seem enough.

A prayer card or bookmark is something they can keep in a Bible, put beside their bed or tuck into a bag as a little reminder for another day.

Give someone encouragement

Sometimes it's difficult to know exactly what to say, particularly when someone is facing uncertainty or wondering what comes next.

A carefully chosen Bible verse can remind them that God is with them, that He knows the path ahead and that they can trust Him to guide their steps  even when the way forward isn't yet clear.

A card or bookmark gives them something tangible to return to. A quiet reminder of God's promises, His presence and the hope that comes from knowing they don't walk the path alone.

Tell someone you're praying for them

"I'll pray for you" can be enormously comforting – particularly when we follow through and actually do it.

You could write a short prayer in a card, send someone a prayer card or simply ask if there is something specific they'd like you they'd like you to pray about.

Then remember them when you next sit down to pray.

Give something that opens a conversation

Sharing faith doesn't always mean having all the answers.

Sometimes a book, Bible or small Christian gift can open a conversation that might not otherwise happen.

The important thing is choosing something because it feels right for that person, rather than simply because it has a Christian message on it.

Celebrate the good things too

Encouragement isn't only for difficult times.

Celebrate the new job. The new home. The exam passed. The baby arriving. The baptism. The engagement. Or simply tell someone that you're grateful they're in your life.

A card, a small gift or a handwritten blessing can turn an ordinary moment into something they'll remember.

And sometimes, just be there

Perhaps the most powerful way we share our faith is through the way we treat people.

Listen. Make the cup of tea. Send the message. Remember the difficult anniversary. Offer practical help. Invite someone in.

We won't always have the right words – and we don't always need them.

Sometimes encouragement is simply letting someone know: I'm thinking of you. I'm praying for you. I'm here.
