Following on from her memoir Sea Changed, Kate Nicholas tells the story of her second journey through cancer and how it helps her discover a deeper, more intuitive experience of God.

Having been diagnosed with advanced breast cancer, God promises Kate Nicholas that she ‘will not die, but live and declare the works of the Lord.’  When she survives against all the odds, she dedicates her life to this mission. 

Yet seven years later, the cancer returns with a vengeance. Desperately ill, Kate sinks beneath the waves of consciousness to the ocean floor where she experiences a mystical encounter with God that transcends imagination or words.

Despite being grateful to be alive, Kate misses that profound connection with God. As she seeks to understand and recapture that experience, she discovers a contemplative practice that offers her a way back into the presence of God.
